Position Responsibilities:
  • Sell and promote Verizon Internet, TV and Phone services to small businesses with focus on new to Verizon business
  • Sales will be made primarily by cold calling/visits to small businesses in an assigned territory
  • Sales process will include managing lead lists, networking, customer appointments, referral solicitation, and door to door sales generation
  • Networking could include attendance at trade shows, marketing events, MTU events, Chamber of Commerce participation, professional association events, External Affairs partnership, economic development groups, 3rd party vendors and the Verizon engineering organization
  • Sell Verizon Business products via referral such as Cloud services
  • Systematically review and assess an assigned territory to insure that potential business customers are contacted on a prescribed basis
  • Prepare and execute customer sales applications
  • Meet/exceed assigned targets associated with sales and productivity
  • Review existing customer accounts and make recommendations for products and services
  • Investigate and assess the customer's telecommunications needs to make recommendation
  • Incorporate clear understanding of competitive offers and customer's industry into recommendations
  • Input orders into computer based application and track customer orders via order management system
  • Partner with other Verizon departments to resolve customer concerns around billing, service and repair issues
  • Maintain required record-keeping and reporting of all sales within an assigned territory
  • Sales territory will be located within Mid-Atlantic Area
  • Demonstrate customer-driven attitude through excellent knowledge of products, services, and rates
  • Represent Verizon and our services in a professional manner
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of successful sales experience
  • Self Starter Requires minimal direct supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Flexibility to work within non-standard business hours to ensure that sales quota is met
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience
Transportation Requirements:
  • A reliable form of personal transportation (Business mileage expenses are reimbursed)
  • Valid driver's license, with driving record in accordance with Verizon's policies
  • Auto insurance coverage that satisfies the minimum requirements per State law
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent to continuous local travel
  • Occasional travel outside of local area 10-20%
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc..
  • Occasional to frequent walking
  • Occasional to frequent exposure to outside environment, including inclement weather
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • 2+ years of outside sales experience in a high transaction, short closing cycle model
  • Business to business sales experience preferred
  • A warm and professional presentation style
  • Proven sales history of meeting or exceeding targets
